“Fuck you! I’m leaving.” That’s the same thing half of Hollywood said last election. Did they leave? The real question is, do you think anyone cares if they leave? Do you think Whoopie Gholdberg or Cameron Diaz are somehow providing America with the intellectual fortitude it needs to flourish. To quote Jason Lee, “not fucking likely!”

I don’t love Bush. I don’t love Kerry. I definitely don’t hate either one of them. It could have gone either way and I really wouldn’t have been to upset about it. To think that Kerry would have made America into some kind of utopian playground of happiness is very Sean Penn/Team America of you all.

But, I have to admit, to see all this liberal gnashing of teeth and political outrage has been pretty priceless. If I had known it would have been like this, I definitely would have voted for Bush. Hind-sight is 20/20, I suppose.

  2. Mat Says:

You’re right. Whoopi Goldberg and Cameron Diaz got nothin’ on the extraordinary “intellectual fortitude” provided by the omniscient Brian Popp.

I don’t know who said they were leaving last time, or if they did. Do I care? Not really. Why do you care if I say I want to leave? I don’t care if you care or not. I’m sick of this shit. I’ve lived through four years of it, and I don’t care to live through another four years of it.

I wasn’t big on Kerry either. Do I think he’d have turned America into a “uptopian paradise?” no. Do I think Bush will turn America into a police state full of people living in fear of the tyrant that he is, and bring this country to its knees? Yes.

I’m amazed you did not vote Bush. Did you vote at all? Sad to know that the joy of seeing people upset would is all it takes to influence you.

  3. Brian Popp Says:

Amen to that brother. However, I prefer THE Omniscient Brian Popp (with just a touch of extra accentuation on the THE).. But then, why do you care if I say you say you want to leave? Do I care if you care you say you want to leave? Not really. I don’t care. That’s not true. I care a little bit and I suspect you do, too.

Seriously, just relax, dude. Nothing’s going to change. Do you really think Bush is capable of being a tyrannical leader? Really now. He’s no Hitler. If he had 1/1000th of Hitler’s intellectual capacity, he might be a threat, but as it is, he’s just a simple God-fearing man trying to make the world safer (right or wrong)

If you want to worry about something really, genuinely scary, why don’t you worry about the people that are cutting off the heads of men and women civilians or flying planes into our buildings. And why are they doing this? Because we did not prevent Israel from invading Lebanon in 1982. (Bin Laden’s words) How fucked up is that? Israel has buildings. I’ve seen em. Take that shit up with them you f”n fascists.

  4. Brian Popp Says:

    Some perspective:

A Dutch filmmaker who had received death threats after releasing his film Submission, a documentary on violence against women in Islamic societies was brutally murdered in Amsterdam on Tuesday. Theo van Gogh, 47, a distant relative of the artist Vincent van Gogh, was killed by a 26 year-old Muslim in apparent retaliation after van Gogh became critical of the Muslim religion following the attacks of September 11, 2001. Van Gogh was shot several times, and his Islamic assailant stabbed the victim repeatedly, slit his throat with a butcher knife, and left a note containing verses from the Qur’an on the body with the knife.

Unfortunately, there is a history of violence against those individuals criticizing Islam. According to Sharia Law: “The penalty for contempt of the Holy Prophet …is death and nothing else.”

  5. Heidi Says:

Cameron Diaz..and Whoope Goldberg? that’s all you’ve got!? heh Nice..

Canada or Columbia? hmmm Or possibly Ecaudor? I have a connection in both places… Yesterday, I found out I can buy a plot of land on the beach w/ a nice house for only 45K in Ecaudor. I’ve got connections in all places… Vancouver would be great as long as.. wait.. there are no negatives about Vancouver, canada. It was rated as one of the FIVE best places to LIVE in America! Sweet.. now I can really get involved with Canada Revenue as I have with the IRS in the states to bring down a few “enron” type companies. heh Maybe I’ll start policing the world and stop all those halliburton-enron type companies from evading taxes.. Offshore accounts.. Here we come.

  6. Heidi Says:

More reasons why to LOOOOVE Canada!!!

“Culture We are, by American standards, very liberal and pretty comfy with it. We have public broadcasting, public medicine, public universities, strict gun control, a tiny military, liveable welfare, gays get married, lots of immigrants, and so on. Abortion is not an issue and is not going to become one. While we have a political right wing that would like to make us more like the US, Canadian politics has a very large high-inertia centre and also an active left wing, so I can’t see things changing too much. “

  7. Mat Says:

    THE,
Actually, Bush being in power IS the reason I’m worried about people fying planes into buildings and cutting people’s heads off. If you haven’t read the transcript of Osama’s latest video, you should. (easily googled) Its pretty interesting. The scariest part is, he makes more sense than our president. (knock knock, “hello secret service!”) Basically he says the reason he attacked us is because of Bush Sr and Bush jr. He knows the people of the US aren’t to blame, and we should not put W back in power. Well, too late for that. Now he can blame us. But he says if your state doesn’t vote for bush, he’ll leave it alone. Time to move to a Blue State. Actually there are lots of things in that transcript that explain the whats and whys. Bush has painted this guy as such a terrorist, and while I agree that he is, he only killed 3000 Americans. Bush has killed >1000 americans and 200,000 iraqis? you tell me who’s more of a terrorist. And don’t give me any crap about how taking over iraq is making the world safer. By now I think we can all agree thats bullshit.

As far as the muslim who killed the filmmaker, that sucks. Where’s the suicide bombers for Bush? Why can’t they kill someone worthwhile?

  8. Brian Popp Says:

I read the transcript which is why I said September 11th had nothign to do with Bush:

Osama: “I will honestly tell you of the moment when the decision was made to attack you. I tell you that God knows we did not originally thing to attack the towers. But we have had enough. We have seen the attacks on our people in Palestine and Lebanon by the Israelis, and after that, it stuck in my mind. The events that influenced me most strongly go back to 1982 when America allowed Israel to invade Palestine, and the US (Navy) Sixth Fleet helped them with that.

So, according to him, the reason we were attacked was because we allied with the Jews in a war in 1982. Tell me. When did Bush Sr. become president? And where did you get the 200,000 Iraqi deaths? . Iraqbodycount.org shows the documented civilian death count at somewhere between 12,000 and 16,000. Admittedly, that’s a lot of people, but this is war. They estimate 2 million+ Vietnamese people died in Vietnam. 10 million+ Russians died in World War II.

“Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad reports that in the period between September 11, 2001 and April 15, 2004, Islamic terrorists have killed at least 7,085 people and wounded 10,132 in 393 attacks around the world.”

You aren’t seeing things clearly. You and Heidi look through these glasses of hatred and you try to make every problem and every injustice the responsibility of your enemies. Unfortunately, you think the man who is defending his country (which is exactly what we asked from him after September 11th) is your enemy instead of the man who has admitted to murdering 2000+ innocent civilians (intentionally no less).

  9. Mat Says:

Whats the matter Brian? no one good enough to argue with you on your own site? :P
Oh yeah, i guess not, all you guys over there just sit around stroking each others’ dicks and/or vaginas.

Frankly, I don’t see any difference between Bush and Osama (other than Osama might be a little more honest). You say Osama killed people intentionally, what do you think Bush is doing? You think he “accidentally” sent troops to blow shit up in iraq? “whoops! my bad. keep it up boys!”

Yeah, we were ok w/ Bush when he was actually looking for the guy who attacked us…over in Afghanistan. Not when he decided to continue his daddy’s war in iraq. I can justify retaliation. Osama’s retaliation on us, our retaliation on Afghanistan. I can’t justify attacking a country because you “think” they might be bad.

I heard Gen. Wesley Clark in an interview the other day. He told a story about right after 9/11 there was a briefing at the Pentagon. One of the other guys there said “hey, you wanna hear a joke?” Clark said “sure”, the other guy said “Saddam Hussein, if he’s not behind 9/11, oh well, we’re gonna get him anyway.”
He replied “thats not a joke”
Didn’t matter, that was the truth. They knew they were gonna go to iraq and they just needed an excuse. 9/11 worked out great.

  10. Brian Popp Says:

Well, I do miss the dick and vagina jokes. Frankly, nobody on my site does them justice. You, though– you sir are a dick and vagina joke genius. Nobody is going to deny that and if they do, I’ll club them over the head with a big plastic dildo with the words, “Mat, the Dick and Vagina Joke King” etched in the base of the shaft. Seriously, though, if you don’t want me writing here, I suppose I can train someone over at my place. Between you and me, though, I doubt very seriously they will ever have your “je ne se quai”.

Back to reality. Bush is waging a war against a dictator that killed and tortured thousands of his own people, paiid blood-money to the families of palestinians who murdered Israeli’s, attacked Kuwait and raped thousands (5000+) of Kuwaiti women. There’s no telling what he might have done had we not intervened. I don’t give a shit what you say about Bush, but please.. don’t f’n disillusion yourself into thinking that Saddam or Bin Laden are good men. They’re both murderers who have no respect for human life.

Before you condemn Bush again as being just as careless, remember that he could have handled this war much differently. Instead of 10,000 casualties (I’m still waiting for that 200,000 reference), we could easily be in the millions by now. Hitler flew bombers over Brittain day and night, 24×7 intentionally targetting civilian buildings for over a year. He didn’t even intend on occupying Brittain. He just wanted to bomb them into submission. (And yes, I’m reading the Time 60 year anniversary of D-Day)

Your point about “the other guy” is what? If “the other guy” was Bush or Rumsfeld I could maybe see why you would make an issue of it, but as it is.. I got nothing. Thank you.. come again. (Harold and Kuma.. funny movie!)

  11. Mat Says:

First off, Thanks for the Dick and Vagina compliments.

Second, I dont think Saddam and Osama are good men. Nor do i think Bush is. Thats why i said they are all the same. Murderers. What i said was, Osama makes more sense than bush. You can still be a murderer and make sense. You can also be a murderer and not make sense.

next, I guess i misread what the 200,000 was. Its more like 10,000. whatever. its still senseless.

I’m not condeming bush as being “careless” i think he knew damn well what he was doing. it wasn’t an accident he decided to go kill ppl in iraq.
Remember, both Osama and Saddam used to work for us. Funny huh?

The “other guy”, i don’t remember. But if you’re a guy at a military briefing at the Pentagon, you’re not the janitor. You’re someone who knows whats going on. Google the interview. its out there.

And I believe its “Harold and KumaR”, not Kuma.

  12. Mat Says:

oh yeah, and if I didn’t want you coming here, I’d have banned you by now.

and you never answered my question, did you really not vote for Bush?

  13. bpopp Says:

Oh, so we are critiquing spelling/grammer now? Seriously.. you don’t wanna go there, girlfriend. You write pretty good, but I don’t think the New York Times is going to be banging down your door for the Lead Editor position anytime soon. I actually wouldn’t have dropped the R off if 1) you didn’t have black text on a dark gray form and 2) your form wasn’t getting cut off by some funky layer issues. It’s apparently only an issue with IE (looks ok in Firebird), but come on, IE still has like 92% of the market.

    http://www.bpopp.net/image/view.php?key=9815a7d199294d2de756eb03a165c89b

I definitely did not vote for Bush. Would I lie about something like that? Before you move away, Osama did not say he would not attack a state that did not vote for Bush. He said they wouldn’t attack any state that didn’t attack “them”.

“Your security is in your own hands and each state which does not attack us, will not be attacked either. ”

I suppose by “State” he meant country. Of course, Al Quaida also threatened Spain with the same ultimatum. Spain bowed to their demands like a little bitch and look where it got them:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/3981061.stm

That’s one of the things I like about Bush. He understands that these people can’t be negotiated or reasoned with. They are terrorists who are using the brutal murder of civilians to incite fear and motivate their fascist political agendas. Kerry insisted he would be strong and the duck-hunting costume was sure pretty, but we all know in our hearts that he would have bowed to the pressure. Hell, I don’t even think I could tolerate listening to all the liberal crap that comes out of this country every day. I’d be like, “OK! OK! Whatever! Whatever you want! Just shut the F*@K UP!!”

Why do you think that Bin Laden and Azzam the American would come out 2 days before the election with their Farhenheit 911 knockoff about the evil George Bush. They are terrified of Bush– and with good reason. Do you really think that if America had elected Kerry, tucked its tail between its legs and ran home, that these groups would have stopped attacking us? Do you really think they hate us because of Iraq? They hated Saddam Hussein and are glad he is gone.

    Azzam the American:
“Open the Qur’an, open the books of Sirah, the prophetic biography, and Ahadith, the prophetic teachings. Open the books of Fiqh, jurisprudence, both modern and ancient and you will find our position well supported. Jihad isn’t something that al-Qa’ida made up. Ruling by Islam law wasn’t started by the Taliban. Hamas didn’t invent the concept of martyrdom. Uh, where we differ from these defeatists and hypocrites is that we don’t believe that these divine orders and principles are open to negotiation and compromise. ”

Read a little about Islamic law under the Taliban. Something tells me you wouldn’t like it. This war between the religions has been going on for a very long time and America has, for the most part, managed to avoid it. That time is over, though, I’m afraid.

  14. bpopp Says:

    Note the date (June 2001):

  15. Mat Says:

“You write pretty good, but I don’t think the New York Times is going to be banging down your door for the Lead Editor position anytime soon.”

you mean, “you write pretty WELL..”

So far you’re the only one who’s said anything about black on dark gray. You shouldn’t be using IE. I don’t even know anyone who still uses IE.

Bush understands these people because he’s just like ‘em. You talk about them using fear to control people, what the hell did he run his whole campaing on? Fear. He’s been using the fear factor since 9/11.

Everyone’s terrified of Bush. Including me. He’s a madman, and a terrorist, and 51% of this country doesn’t seem to care.

I don’t know much about Azzam the American. Sounds like its probably just Ali G.

  16. Mat Says:

Let me know if this looks any better in your retardo browser now.

  17. von Says:

Fuck you guys, I stroke my OWN vagina!

Good post mat, I think I agree. Fuck those people. Fuck morals. Fuck trying to be good. Fuck God. Fuck Babies. Fuck everything positive. I’m so goddamn sick of positive shit.

  18. Mat Says:

Aw crap. here comes the riff raff.

I personally don’t see the current administration being good, moralistic, or positive at all. I doubt there’s been a more corrupt, lying, cheating, murderous bunch, than these guys. Fuck babies? What? you mean the abortion issue? Don’t even start. we’ve already gone ’round and ’round w/ that on bpopp.net. And yes, Fuck God.

  19. Mat Says:

One other thing, Brian, just out of curiosity, why did you not vote for Bush?

  20. Heidi Says:

heh I thought it was dick and fart jokes? Interesting arguements…. Actually.. it’s: eg. techincally speaking w/ the current APA format. ;)

Isn’t it called a Circle Jerk over in bpopp’s site or not because that Blueeeyez girl is included? So what would that be called? Dirk and Vagina jerking? WAIT.. that would be called stroking a man’s ego. :)

  21. denny Says:

    100,000 Iraqi civilian casualties

  22. denny Says:

by the way… regarding that figure and the link… the link goes to an excellent article that discusses the methodology of the study as well as its validity.

even if the number is 30,000 instead of 100,000… something worth considering given the scope when compared to 9/11…. not that the iraqi’s had a damn thing to do with 9/11. evidence shows quite clearly that the tie in created by the bush admin between 9/11 and iraq was nothing but fantasy.

  23. bushlovr Says:

There may be 100,000 Iraqi’s dead, but I think it was Saddam that killed about 80,000 of them.

  24. Brian Popp Says:

Mat: Good job.. it’s working with IE now. IE still has a 92% market share, so you might not want to write it off just yet. I personally use both since many sites are IE only. Firefox is awesome, but IE in SP2 is actually pretty stable (and tends to be faster and use less RAM).

Heidi: I usually have more active women readers than men, but it was still a great insult. Granted, most of my women readers hate me, but from what I’ve seen here, this but this place ain’t gonna win any Lifetime awards either (assuming denny wasn’t lying about being a man– I’m still skeptical.) 2 points for Heidi for the circle-jerk take down.

Denny: I saw the 100,000 estimate, but when I saw that 1) they included Falluja in the “random” sample, and 2) the confidence interval put the number of deaths between 8000 and 198,000 (+/- 190,000??), I decided to go with what seemed like a more reputable source (one that actually included sources).

Regardless, it is a little misleading when you say 30,000 or 100,000 “civilian” casualties since many of these casualities were either 1) insurgents or 2) former soldiers that have abandoned their uniforms. Some have even died by their own hands (while trying to kill Americans) or were murdered in the attacks by their own people. It’s kind of ironic when you think about America being blamed for the deaths of those people that committed suicide while trying to kill American soldiers.

Regarding the tie with 9/11, I agree. I think Bush and his administration made a horrible mistake in pushing this idea that Saddam “definitely” had WMD. I tend to think he had to believe that they were there, though. Otherwise, wouldn’t he have been a little more prepared? I mean, wouldn’t he have at least planted some evidence or something if he knew none existed? Can you imagine a dirty copy trying to falsely accuse some guy of murder, busting down the door, and then saying, “there was a gun right here under the bed, I swear!” If GWB is half as deceptive and calculating as you and Bin Laden would have us believe, I think he would have considered this.

They were all looking at the same information and most people tended to be in agreement. At one time, I remember the support for the invasion of Iraq being at like 70 or 80%. Then, when WMD’s didn’t show up, that number started dropping drastically. Most people don’t know anything about the situation in Iraq. They just know what they hear in between episodes of Oprah and Fear Factor. I guarantee you that if you pulled 80% of the “Vote or Die!” Democrats aside and asked them what the first Gulf War was about, they wouldn’t have a clue.

They also wouldn’t know, for example, that since that first Gulf War, “The Iraqi Ministry of Health estimates that 109,720 persons have died annually as a direct result of the UN sanctions. 567,000 children in Iraq have died as a consequence of the sanctions.” So what is more humane? Leaving Saddam in power and basically watching him live a life of luxury while the millions of innocent people (mostly children) starve to death around him? Or taking him out of power at the cost of 30,000 men (many of which are loyal to the saddist, Saddam).

Most also don’t know about the horrible things Saddam and his military have done during his stay in power (some of which I mentioned above).

Mat: I didn’t vote. Like Mr. Stone and Mr. Parker and unlike MTV, I don’t think people should feel compelled to vote unless they actually have a clue. I didn’t and was still undecided at the deadline for registration. I would have ultimately voted Bush and since I live in “Pig-F*ckerville” (as you say) I wasn’t too worried about my delinquency to the polls.

  25. von Says:

riff raff? dude, i’ve been reading since you came on bpopp. I really enjoy the site. No lie. I get a lot of good info here, like the goatse pumpkin!! Holy shit, man, I wouldn’t have found that anywhere else I go. Don’t think you know who I am, because I’m probably not. k?

Honestly, you gotta admit that post was kind of harsh, right? Fuck the flaming corpse of dale earndharwahteverhisnameis? I don’t even know anything about racing, man and that made me question all the other shit I’ve been reading you write about for a while. Seriously. It’s a little much don’t you think?

I’ve been trying to think lately about positive stuff. I happen to like bush, you don’t, but there’s plenty of other shit I just hate. But why focus on it so much. Aren’t there some things that you like that are going on today?

  26. Mat Says:

Von, well piss, i’m glad you enjoy the site, I’m not judging you. This site usually is more about entertainment than politics, but well you know, sometimes its both. or more one than the other. Eventually (probably in the next month or so) gravitate more towards entertainment type shit than anti bush shit. but don’t be surprised if bush says something dumb and i post it here. Thanks for coming. You’re more than welcome to enjoy the DFH.

Bpopp, i’m way to drunk to try to debate you right now. You had lots of facts and numbers in that last post for me to give two fucks about. :) I’ll say, I agree that saddam was a bad guy. sure. I’m glad he’s gone. We got ‘im, and now we need to get outta there. But i think bush is bad too. and if someone came and got hi m , i’d be clapping my hands for that too.
You may have inadvertantly gained a new friend (denny) by not voting. He’s highly against it. And I’ve known him long enough to understand his point. I felt it too, as i’ve stated: kerry or bush, two heads, one corrupt body.

I think in a weird way we agree about many things, whether we admit it or not, i think its safe to say, the system is fuct. It may not be as bad as iraq or afghanistan, or many other countries for that matter, but its not as honest as it should be.

btw: when this entry leaves the main page, we can’t debate it anymore. Rules of The Door From Hell.

  27. Mat Says:

BTW: I did not write this entry, i just reposted it. As far as dale earnharwhatsisname goes, i think what the author is trying to say is, dale represents a sport which is generally popular in the Red States. So…fuck ‘im.

  28. bushlovr Says:

Mat, we all know how you feel about Bush. Luckily you havnt had to hear anyone tell you what they think of Kerry. So I will take the duty of telling you that Kerry is a fucking pussy. He is the type of person that would run and hide if some one came up to him and punched him in the face. At least Bush is willing to fight back.

  29. Mat Says:

Ohhh..thats why Kerry went to war and Bush got his daddy to get him out of it. Who’s the pussy?

  30. bushlovr Says:

Yeah, I guess your right. I must have overlooked the fact that Bush is also a pussy. I admit it. They are both peices of shit, so fuck’em.

  31. bushlovr Says:

Long live the King of Nascar!!!

  32. bpopp Says:

Bush is clearly the dick. I can’t imagine Kerry f’n anyone which means he must be either a pussy or an asshole. [1]

Anyway, I guess the only “facts and numbers” you care about are the ones (legitimate or not) that make Bush look like a murdering, hate-mongering bastard. That’s fair. Keep up the good work. I’m sure your new government (whether it be in Canada or Equador) will appreciate your uncanny ability to know the truth without having any real historical facts or numbers to back it up (also known as propoganda). If not them, maybe Michael Moore will take you in to work on his upcoming project, “Why Bush is Responsible for Me Destroyed the Credibility of an entire Political Party!” (working title)

I’m not claiming to be very knowledgeable about history and have spent most of my life avoiding it, but as I get older I realize how important it really is. If you genuinely don’t care about the 2000+ years of history that have put us in the middle of this war between Israel and the rest of the middle-east, then this discussion’s long, slow walk down death-row is well-deserved and long overdue.

Now back to the regularly scheduled program.. “fuck that mother-fucker cock-sucking bastard son-of-a-bitch chicken-hawk, earnheart watching, bitch-ass motherfucker. Err.. dick, vagina, circle-jerk.”

  33. Mat Says:

    bpopp,
Nah i care about the facts and numbers, I reread your post this morning, (when i wasn’t as drunk) and it all makes sense, i hadn’t thought about some of those casualties being suicide bombers, but really, how many are we talking here? less than 100 i’m sure.

As far as why we’re in the middle of this war, all i can see, is greed. Why do we help out israel on one day then have the saudi’s over for dinner on the other?

Anyhow, I’d gladly go work for Michael Moore. I just pitched him an idea for a film called “Bpopp Goes The Weasel” (Pauly Shore is in it, he plays you.)

    PS: I just farted.
