TMZ obtained the legal papers, filed today in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing “irreconcilable differences.” In her petition, Spears asks for both legal and physical custody of the couple’s two children, one-year old Sean Preston and two-month old Jayden James, with Federline getting reasonable visitation rights.
As for money, sources tell TMZ the couple, who married in Sept. 2004, has an iron-clad prenup. Not surprisingly, Spears is waiving her right to spousal support. She’s also asking the judge to make each party pay their own attorney’s fees.
Spears gives the date of separation as yesterday, the same day she flaunted her incredible revamped physique during a surprise appearance on David Letterman’s show. Sources tell TMZ there was no single reason for Britney pulling the plug, rather, it was “a string of events.”

If you wanna blame anyone for the tardiness of the fourth “Indiana Jones†film – a film many predict may never happen, if only because its been off and on more times than a kettle – you can probably take aim at George Lucas.
According to Screenwriter Frank Darabont (“The Green Mileâ€), the fourth film was ready to go two years ago – until Lucas decided he didn’t like his script. Considering Steven Spielberg thought the script was the best Jaunt Indy had had since ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’, it sounds like Uncle George needs his head read.
“That was terrifically frustratingâ€, Darabont said in an exclusive interview with CHUD. “I worked for over a year on that; I worked very close with Steven Spielberg. He was ecstatic with the result and was ready to shoot it two years ago. He was very, very happy with the script and said it was the best draft of anything since Raiders of the Lost Ark. That’s really high praise and gave me a real sense of accomplishment, especially when you love the material you’re working on as much as I love the Indiana Jones films.â€
Lucas then came to Darabont and stuck a stake through his script.
“Lucas read it and said, ‘Yeah, I don’t think so, I don’t like it.’ And then he resets it to zero when Spielberg is ready to shoot it that coming year, [which] is a real kick to the nuts. You can only waste so much time and so many years of your life on experiences like that, you can only get so emotionally invested and have the rug pulled out from under you before you say enough of that.â€
The proofs in “The Phantom Menaceâ€, I believe. Throw away the key.

This is proof that if you take something that makes you say “WTF?” add it to about 50 other things that make you say “WTF?” you end up with something that is pure genius. Or something that makes you say “WTF!????”

Many a director and star have tried to bring “Speed Racer” to the big screen, but now the team behind “The Matrix” is ready to give it a go.
Larry and Andy Wachowski are writing a script from the popular Japanese cartoon series and the brothers will direct the film with Joel Silver producing. As if those aren’t enough “Matrix” vets, executive producer Grant Hill and visual effects master John Gaeta will also make the leap, according to the industry trade papers.
