Well, we’re not exactly sure what the official day was when we made that sweet little film, “The Door From Hell”, but we’re pretty sure it was sometime between Christmas and New Years, back in 1995. So we’re gonna say it was the 28th.
To commemorate the big one-zero, we’re offering a limited edition DFH shirt. Head on over to the Store From Hell and get yours today!

December 23, 2005: NASA scientists have observed an explosion on the moon. The blast, equal in energy to about 70 kg of TNT, occurred near the edge of Mare Imbrium (the Sea of Rains) on Nov. 7, 2005, when a 12-centimeter-wide meteoroid slammed into the ground traveling 27 km/s. “What a surprise,” says Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) researcher Rob Suggs, who recorded the impact’s flash. He and colleague Wes Swift were testing a new telescope and video camera they assembled to monitor the moon for meteor strikes. On their first night out, “we caught one,” says Suggs.

Scientists said yesterday that they have discovered a tiny genetic mutation that largely explains the first appearance of white skin in humans tens of thousands of years ago, a finding that helps solve one of biology’s most enduring mysteries and illuminates one of humanity’s greatest sources of strife.
The work suggests that the skin-whitening mutation occurred by chance in a single individual after the first human exodus from Africa, when all people were brown-skinned. That person’s offspring apparently thrived as humans moved northward into what is now Europe, helping to give rise to the lightest of the world’s races.

The bound body of a woman jogger has been found in a shed owned by Sesame Street’s Big Bird and a caretaker charged with her kidnapping.
But police said puppeteer Caroll Spinney, who also plays Oscar the Grouch, had nothing to do with the woman’s death.
Scott Deojay, 36, a caretaker for the property where the woman, Judith Nilan, was found, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with kidnapping.
