This is what life would be like in a perfect world.

That was a quickie, but I’m sure Paris is used to those. Earlier today Judge Sauer (and boy was he ever) demanded Paris Hilton go back to jail to finish her remaining sentence.

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) — Screaming and crying, Paris Hilton was escorted from a courtroom and ordered back to jail Friday after a judge, overruling the county sheriff, said she must serve out her entire 45-day sentence behind bars rather than in her Hollywood Hills home.

“It’s not right!” shouted Hilton, who violated her probation in a reckless driving case. “Mom!” she called out to her mother in the audience.

Earlier Friday, the 26-year-old hotel heiress was handcuffed and taken from her home in a black-and-white police car, paparazzi sprinting in pursuit and helicopters broadcasting live from above. She entered the courtroom disheveled and weeping, hair askew, without makeup, wearing a fuzzy gray sweat shirt over slacks.

She cried throughout the hearing, dabbing her eyes, and her body shook constantly. Several times, she turned to her parents, seated behind her in the courtroom, and mouthed, “I love you.”

In a file obtained by the Web site, Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore lists the official reasoning for reassignment:

“After extensive consultation with Los Angeles County medical personnel, including doctors at the Century Regional Detention Facility, it has been determined that Paris Hilton will be reassigned to the Community-Based Alternatives to Custody: the CBAC program.

“Ms. Hilton has been fitted with an electronic monitoring device and will serve the remainder of her sentence confined to her home. She will now serve the full 45 day sentence. Ms. Hilton has been in custody for five days and therefore will be serving 40 days in the Electronic Monitoring Program under the supervision of the Los Angeles County Probation Department.”

Just hours after strolling the pink carpet at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards, the 26-year-old celebutante reported for jail late Sunday night, two days before the court-ordered deadline, according to her attorney and sheriff’s officials.

Hilton will be calling Lynwood’s Century Regional Detention Facility home for the next 23 days—assuming she behaves herself—where she will be paying the piper for driving with a suspended license while on probation for a drunken driving charge.

She’ll be doing time in Century’s 12-cell special-needs housing unit, which only fits a maximum 24 inmates at a time. Moreover, the tabloid fixture will have the typical cell (12 feet deep by 8 feet wide with a ceiling height of 8 feet) to herself. She has her choice of two bunks to go along with the usual accoutrements of a table, a sink, a toilet and a small window.

Hilton can meet with her attorney and family during visiting hours, but is not allowed to give media interviews.

Century personnel have been warned not to take photos of Hilton in her jailhouse jumpsuit, even though photo agencies have stated the first images could fetch upward of $500,000.

She can spend one hour a day outside the cell to shower, use the telephone (but not her personal cell phone) and watch TV in a small pod adjacent to the cell.

LOS ANGELES — Paris Hilton worked as a farmer and maid on her TV show “The Simple Life.” Now she’s facing a real-life hardship in her latest role: jail inmate.

Hilton, who parlayed her name and relentless partying into worldwide notoriety, was sentenced Friday to 45 days in county jail for violating probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case by driving with a suspended license.

As an inmate, she might have to spend most of her day in a cell smaller than her closet _ her only luxury escape a short period to shower, watch TV, exercise or talk on the phone.

“I’m very sorry and from now on I’m going to pay complete attention to everything. I’m sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all,” Hilton, 26, told a judge before the sentencing.
