Remember seeing this album cover everywhere in the 90’s?
Nirvana considered using a stock photograph of a swimming baby, but when that proved too expensive, they hired photographer Kirk Weddle. Weddle’s friends, Renata and Rick Elden, allowed their son Spencer to be photographed for about $200. The hook, line, and dollar were superimposed later. After seeing the photo, Kurt Cobain (Nirvana’s lead singer) and his wife Courtney Love agreed that they would take Spencer out to dinner when he got older.
Well meet the naked baby himself, Spencer Elden, now 17. So yeah, you’re old..

And while we’re at it, here’s Kurt and Courtney’s child, Frances Bean looking all growed up too.

Hey check it out..someone is alive over in the Rancid camp. I had no idea the band was even still together, but apparently they are, and you can buy full, live shows from their website. Its always nice when a band is cool enough to record their shows and make them available to the fans. check it.

Jeff Kinzbach is in the construction business - and quite successful - and living in Dallas. Ed “Flash†Ferenc works with the Cleveland Municipal Court and hosts a daily liberal (thank God!) talk show, which is carried on a few stations in the market. Matt the Cat works for Progressive Insurance. Kid Leo does a show on Sirius’ Underground Garage channel. Prior to that he held various positions at Sony Music. Denny Sanders is the VP/GM of Telos Systems, the leading manufacturer of professional audio equipment, which is based in Cleveland. Before joining Telos, Denny succeeded me as PD of WMJI, which became the number one station in Cleveland and a highly respected oldies station nationally. Betty Korvan is retired and living in Deadwood, SD. BLF Bash works with Giant Eagle. Ruby Cheeks is doing radio in Phoenix. Dia Stein worked in radio syndication and still does radio in New York City. Murray Saul turns 78 this year. He is semi-retired and was a guest on WNCX this morning. He has a CD out featuring a number of “Get Downs,†which is available from Amazon, Little Fish, and other selected on-line music stores. It’s worth your while to find a copy. The whereabouts of Mr. Leonard and Kenny Clean are unknown.

CUPERTINO, California—April 2, 2007—Apple® today announced that EMI Music’s entire digital catalog of music will be available for purchase DRM-free (without digital rights management) from the iTunes® Store (www.itunes.com) worldwide in May. DRM-free tracks from EMI will be offered at higher quality 256 kbps AAC encoding, resulting in audio quality indistinguishable from the original recording, for just $1.29 per song. In addition, iTunes customers will be able to easily upgrade their entire library of all previously purchased EMI content to the higher quality DRM-free versions for just 30 cents a song. iTunes will continue to offer its entire catalog, currently over five million songs, in the same versions as today—128 kbps AAC encoding with DRM—at the same price of 99 cents per song, alongside DRM-free higher quality versions when available.

In a major reversal of the music industry’s longstanding antipiracy strategy, EMI Group PLC is set to announce Monday that it plans to sell significant amounts of its catalog without anticopying software, according to people familiar with the matter.
The London-based music company is to make its announcement in a press conference that will feature Apple Inc. Chief Executive Steve Jobs. EMI is to sell songs without the software — known as digital rights management, or DRM — through Apple’s iTunes Store and possibly through other online outlets, too.

Michael Jackson is in discussions about creating a 50-foot robotic replica of himself to roam the Las Vegas desert, according to reports.
The pop legend is currently understood to be living in the city, as he considers making a comeback after 2004’s turbulent child sex case.
It has now been claimed that his plans include an elaborate show in Vegas, which would feature the giant Jacko striding around the desert, firing laser beams.
If built, the metal monster would apparently be visible to aircraft as they come in to land in the casino capital.

In an image released Wednesday, March 7, 2007, by the Washington State Patrol, a cache of weapons is shown in a drawer in the back of a sport-utility vehicle, which were confiscated during the arrest of Blues Traveler singer-harmonica player John Popper near Ritzville, Wash. The 39-year-old Popper was arrested Tuesday while he was a passenger inside a vehicle that was clocked going 111 miles per hour on Interstate 90. The Washington State Patrol says officers searching the black Mercedes SUV found numerous secret compartments containing weapons and a small amount of marijuana. Popper, who lives in Snohomish, Wash., was the owner of the vehicle. He and the other man were released from the Adams County Jail, but the vehicle was impounded. (AP Photo/Washington State Patrol)
